The Yo Soy Testigo/I am a Witness Campaign is a collaborative effort between Coalición de Derechos Humanos, Migra Patrol-Copwatch, and Pan Left Productions to document and report law enforcement abuses and collaboration between local law enforcement and Border Patrol/ICE. We invite you to get involved in the Yo Soy Testigo Campaign and/or any of the participating organizations.
The Yo Soy Testigo hotline is a 24-hour phone number that is available to the community to report abuse and collaboration between local law enforcement and Border Patrol/ICE.
Coalición de Derechos Humanos
The hotline is answered by Promotoras de Derechos Humanos (human rights promoters) and volunteers. Community members are able to report abuses anonymously, if desired, but we encourage the full documentation.
If you are interested in the work of Derechos Humanos and would like to get involved, call 520.770.1373 or visit our Get Involved page.
Migra Patrol-Copwatch is a volunteer-run monitoring project that uses video and photography to document local law enforcement agencies’ and the Border Patrol’s interactions with the public to ensure that they respect and honor civil and human rights. Migra Patrol-Copwatch was formed as collaboration with Coalición de Derechos Humanos and Pan Left over 12 years ago. We have ramped up our patrols and participation is growing in response to a visible increase in collaboration between local law enforcement and Border Patrol, as well as the use of minor traffic violations by police as a strategy to check immigration status and increase deportations.

General Abuse Documentation
One of the primary focuses of Derechos Humanos is the documentation of abuses at the hands of law enforcement officials, institutions, businesses, and other individuals. Relationships have been developed with the appropriate entities whose responsibility it is to investigate and prosecute alleged abuses. These entities include: the Arizona Attorney General’s Office, Tucson Police Independent Auditor, South Tucson Police Department, Labor Commission of Arizona, the Joint Intake Center, Office of Inspector General, and the Office of Professional Responsibility. By documenting the abuses and reporting them to the appropriate authorities on behalf of victims, a barrier of safety is achieved, and the demand for accountability firmly established.
If you believe that your rights have been violated or that you have been abused by law enforcement or others, contact Derechos Humanos at 520.770.1373 or 1.800.682.4280.
